On Sunday the 18th October, Barbie’s Playschool in Broadstairs will be holding their annual Sponsored Walk and they have chosen this year to raise funds for Pilgrims Hospices.
This year the sponsored walk is in memory of Barbara’s Daughter Susan and Holly’s Nan Teresa, who where cared for at Pilgrims Hospices.
Last Year Barbie’s sponsored Walk which starts at Palm Bay and heads to the Turner Contemporary and back, raised a staggering £4000 and this year they would love to beat that amount. To try and raise more this year they are holding a bake sale on Thursday 15th October at Barbie’s Playschool between 11-1, with any cake donations welcome.
Each year Pilgrims Hospices gives care and comfort to over 2,300 people coming to terms with an illness which sadly cannot be cured. The charity supports patients to live life as well as possible until the very end; free from pain and distress.
Care is provided from three hospice sites in Ashford, Canterbury and Thanet as well as in patients’ own homes and in the community
