Minister of the Corinthian Church and Healing Association in Broadstairs, Reverend John Hawksworth and a member of his congregation Mr Peter Gibson proudly presented a cheque for £300 to Community Fundraising Manager Karen Kenward from their Church Collections.
Reverend John Hawksworth said: ” We really enjoy putting the money from our collections to good causes this is why we chose Pilgrims Hospices.”
The Corinthian Church and Healing Association in Broadstairs is held at the East Kent Quakers Meeting Place.
Karen Kenward, Community Fundraising Manager at Pilgrims Hospices said: “We take great pride in the fact that all our services are offered free of charge to thousands of local people each year, but this is only possible because of the generosity of the community. While 25% of Pilgrims Hospices costs are funded by the NHS, we must raise £11 million ourselves to run our hospice services across east Kent so it is entirely due to people’s kindness that we are able to provide the care that we do every year.”
